Cervical Cancer Vaccinations

Cervical cancer kills around 100 women in Scotland every year.
The NHS in Scotland is now offering cervical cancer vaccines to all 12 and 13-year-old girls in selected Scottish schools. This vaccine is called Cervarix.
However, at Healthcare Now we offer Gardasil, another form of the cervical cancer vaccine, which provides additional protection against two strains of the Human Papilloma Virus, strains 11 and 6 which cause about 90% of genital warts. The number of first attack cases of genital warts has increased by 22% in the past 10 years* and continues to rise. Genital warts are unsightly, extremely contagious and recurrence rates can be high.
Our Gardasil vaccination programme consists of a small injection in the arm, which is delivered three times over the course of a six-month period.
Both forms of the vaccine - Cervarix and Gardasil - offer 70% protection against developing cervical cancer.
Please note that the cervical cancer vaccination is not an alternative to regular cervical smear tests.
